Happy Tuesday, fellow readers, and happy holidays. I hope that everyone is staying warm and safe. This week I have an erotic horror book for you called You Should've Stayed Home by MA Savino. Guess what?! It's a Christmas book, too! If Die Hard is a Christmas movie, then You Should've Stayed Home is a Christmas book. If you missed the sweeter holiday book recommendations, be sure to go check out last week's post. Now, on to the book.
First, of course, the trigger warnings.

It's as dark as dark can be! This is the second book in the series, so you need to have read You Should've Kept Driving before diving into this one.
If you are still with me, let's dive in. Holy f***! I absolutely freaking love Odie! She is such a complex main character. Unlike the first book, the second book brings out more of Odie's personality traits and sees her growing a bit as a person.
I enjoyed how MA brought more details about the other characters that we met in book one but didn't get to know that well. The character development was very strong in this one as was the world development. I enjoyed that we got multiple locations to explore this time.
The twists! Oh my! So many twists and turns and obstacles. And the humor! I would be completely remise if I did not talk about the humor. I absolutely adore dark humor. I think it might be my love language. MA did not disappoint me when it comes to this. She brought it in the first book and the second book was just as great about it. There is even hidden dark humor that I'm just finding out about!! This is a no spoilers space though, so sorry, I'm not telling. You'll have to try to figure it out on your own.
Here is my official review:
Holy smokes!
Wow! I am struggling to express just how smitten I am with "You Should've Stayed Home". MA Savino absolutely slayed this sequel in the best possible way! If you read the first, and you must before reading this one, you will be familiar with the triggers that you'll run into. I adored getting to know Odie and all of the characters better. This book has more twists and turns than Lombard Street. When I tell you that I yelled at my ebook, I am not being dramatic. It is that crazy! Do not miss your chance to grab this one!
I know there is a book three in the works, and I can not wait to get my hands on it! If you haven’t started the series yet, be sure to grab You Should've Kept Driving. If you are ready to sink your teeth into book two (nom nom), you can do so here: https://a.co/d/iEJvI4W
Well, that is it for me this week, dear readers. I'll catch you next week for the last blog post of 2024. Until then, curl up with a good book.
