Happy Tuesday, fellow readers! Can you believe it's May already? I'm still waiting for the weather to settle down. Regardless of your weather, this week's recommendation is sure to be a welcome distraction. Please join me in checking out this wonderful cozy paranormal mystery called "Murder Any Witch Way" by N.M. Howell.

First, the trigger warnings.

Trigger Warnings:

Murder

Paranormal/magic

Since it's a cozy, there isn't much to report on the trigger front and no spice. Sometimes, it's nice to just focus on the mystery. This one is set in a small town which is always fun. It lends to great world building. Brimstone Bay is so cute with it's shops, beautiful ocean views, and colorful characters. I can practically taste one of Mrs. Pot's pies or River's favorite Triple Americano from Mr. Bramley's cafe. I love it when an author can accomplish those visualizations.

The characters are so unique and interesting. I always adore a story with witches and other paranormal beings. River, the main character, is a witch and a journalist who is new to this small town but has already found her place amongst the other witches. I can't wait to learn more about the other characters, which will hopefully come in future books.

The twist! Oh my! Most mystery books are predictable to me. They are still entertaining, but I figure out who the culprit is before the book reveals it. Howell managed to throw me off on this one! I can't tell you how happy that makes me! I'm absolutely hooked.

Here is my official review.

I didn't see that coming!

It's rare that a mystery book actually surprises me as I usually figure out who did it before it's revealed. "Murder Any Witch Way" managed to throw me off, and I love it! The characters are fantastic. The world building is terrific. I adore Brimstone Bay and can't wait to read more.

If you are ready to step into Brimstone Bay, you can get "Murder Any Witch Way" here:

That does it for me for this week, dear readers. Please join me again next week for another wonderful recommendation. Until then, curl up with a good book.
