Happy Tuesday fellow readers! Can you believe that it is July already?! It's crazy. Today, I have a treat for those with a taste for the dark. I mean pitch black. I was lucky enough to get to beta read this one then arc read it again. It is live now, so I can share!

Okay. I told you it was dark. This was my first book by M.A. Savino. I was lucky enough to stumble upon her post looking for beta readers for this book, and I am so happy that I did. I am even more thankful that I got to read the finished version as well. I absolutely love dark humor and it is like my native language. This book was chock full of dark humor, and I adored every bit of it.

This was a total rollercoaster ride through a deep dark twisty tunnel in the absolutely best way. The main character is an enigma and M.A. does a wonderful job at slowly revealing her story. She is damaged. She is crazy. She is strong. She is a weapon of vengeance. I absolutely adore her! I think that she is now my favorite dark female main character, FMC.

Here is my official review:

I feel like there isn't an adequate word for how phenomenal this book is. Absofuckinglutely fanfuckingtabulous. You have to have zero triggers and speak fluent dark humor for this one. Luckily for me I don't and I do. 5 black hearts 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 to this literary masterpiece. Jane Doe aka Willow aka Opeya is freaking brilliant! She is now my favorite FMC. She is twisted, determined, beyond strong, brilliant, and probably insane. This tale of darkness takes place entirely in an underground bunker. I have to give mad props to Melissa for being able to pull off a multi day experience in a single location without it seeming stale. I could visualize every inch of that bunker. It was so well done. The characters are absolutely phenomenal. And twists! Oh my! The twists! Chefs kiss. 💋 For some reason my brain provided me with White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane as the soundtrack for the last chapter. It seemed to fit. If you are looking for a dark depraved trip with shocks and so much dark humor then grab this book immediately. If you regret it, it'll be in the best way, and you'll want to make more people share in this trauma.

I of course had to modify that for Amazon due to language, and I am still waiting for them to approve my review. This review gives you an idea of just how much I enjoyed this book.

If you want to meet Opeya go check out You Should've Kept Driving.

I could probably rave about this book forever, but I don't want to spoil it! No spoilers! So, that's it for me for this week. Have a safe and happy 4th of July, everyone. I hope you'll join me next week. Until then, curl up with a good book.
