Happy Tuesday, fellow readers! I hope that you all are doing well. Thank you for joining me for another wonderful book. This week, I have a historical fiction young adult adventure with a hint of romance called "The Novice" by C.A. Morley.
First, the trigger warnings.

Trigger Warnings:
Fighting
Death
Pregnancy
Bullying
As you can see, it's a clean book, and I believe it could be enjoyed by older teens and adults alike. "The Novice" is book one of the Wayfinders series. It was my first book by C.A. Morley and it left me hungry for more.
I have to give props for an immaculately edited work. Usually, I run across errors in books, but I didn't spy any in this one. Absolutely fantastic!
Morely brings a whole host of wonderful characters and does a great job with character development. I can't decide whether I like Amity better or Anwyn. Both are strong female characters in their own right and both go through a lot in their young lives. Both ladies bring the romantic aspects to the story as well. I adore them both! The author does an amazing job with switching between the two different stories that are happening simultaneously but are also intertwined.
Here is my official review:
"The Novice" is a wonderful historical fiction that also seems like a young adult adventure. C.A. Morley brings a whole host of interesting characters and does a great job bouncing between two different groups as the book progresses. It does give you an ending but definitely has that first book feel where you know there is so much more to the story. I look forward to catching up to Anwen and Amity to see how each of their stories plays out.
I definitely hope to see a book two soon on this one. In the meantime you can meet Amity, Anwen and all of the other characters in "The Novice" here: https://a.co/d/4lIlOtV
That does it for me for this week, dear readers. I hope that you'll join me again next week for another wonderful book. Until then, curl up with a good book.
