Happy Tuesday, fellow readers! It's almost Halloween! I'm excited about Halloween and to bring you this week's recommendation which is so good it's scary. This week's book is "The Death and Life of Arturo Delgado" by Ken La Salle. It is the third book in the Breakthrough Series and is a sci-fi adventure. Congratulations to Ken on his newest book release!
Let's jump in!
First, the trigger warnings.

Trigger warnings:
Death
Fighting/weapons
Theft
Injury
Divorce
There isn't anything too gnarly, but there is enough danger to keep you on the edge of your seat. This one is book three of the Breakthrough Series. You wouldn't be totally lost reading it out of order, but you'd miss out on getting to know the characters better before this adventure. I adore the writing style of this book. It's chaotic. It's gritty. It's immersive, and it's captivating.
In my review, I described the character relationships as complicated, and I can't think of a better word for them. Max and Arturo are almost friends yet sworn enemies but somehow still civil at times. Max and Lily are in love but getting a divorce but maybe not. Then, you have Sue Jorganson with Pod and Zanks and their interactions with Max, Lily, and Arturo. It's complex, messy and intriguing.
The plot is as complex and exciting as the characters. It definitely hooks you right away and keeps you right on the edge. Space travel, other worlds, danger, a looming threat, magic and more! It has all the good things.
Here is my official review.
A wild sci-fi adventure.
It's complicated. That's the best way to explain the relationships between the characters and the adventure itself. Max, Lily, Arturo, and Sue are all such complex and interesting characters. Then you add in characters like Zanks and Dassana. Ken's writing style sucked me right in and held me captive from page one until the last word. Book three is an excellent addition to the series, and I absolutely can not wait to read more.
If you have read the first two books and are ready to continue the adventure, you can get "The Death and Life of Arturo Delgado" here:
That does it for me for this week, dear readers. Please join me again next week for another wonderful recommendation. Until then, curl up with a good book.
