Trigger Warnings:
Explicit language
Guns/weapons
Suicide

Infidelity
Murder with detailed scenes
Drugs and alcohol use
Current events/potentially touchy subjects
This one is truly edgy. It is gruesome. It is inventive. It'll keep you on the edge of your seat. It is not for the faint of heart.
Imagine a game played with, by, and for the wealthy and powerful. Imagine that you can't trust what is real anymore. Imagine losing everything in the pursuit of further wealth while people bet on you ending your own existence. All that and more awaits in "The Contestant."
The main male character, Chase Lennon, is an interesting person. I wasn't originally feeling like cheering for a spoiled, money hungry, workaholic with a mild gambling addiction. Somehow, Blake Rudman managed to make me care about this man, and ultimately I wanted him to win.
The twists! Oh my. This book will definitely keep you on your proverbial toes. Everything is never what it seems, and I absolutely love it. Here is my official review.
Edgy!
"The Contestant" is different and edgy. It's definitely an edge of your seat thriller that keeps you in suspense. I wanted to hate Chase a bit at first or at the least be apathetic toward him, but I grew to be invested in him and even began to root for him. It's definitely a dark read with gruesome details and I loved every page.
