Happy Tuesday, fellow readers! Can you believe how fast the month has gone?! It's crazy! This week I have the pleasure of bringing you the sequel to "Betrayal of the Gorgon." Please welcome, "Ransom of the Gorgon" by Johnna Dee.

First, the trigger warnings.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🌶🌶

Triggers:

Kidnapping

Adult language

Stockholm Syndrome vibes

Sex

Fighting

Death

I was so excited to get this sequel! I say sequel since it is the second in the series, however most of the book takes place simultaneously with book one, which is very cool.

Elys is such a great character, and I loved getting to know her better than just the glimpse of her that was in book one. I adore my darker themes and was delighted that "Ransom of the Gorgon" delved a bit into these darker spaces. I can't tell you much because of spoilers but if you refer back to the trigger warnings, you can probably figure out what I'm getting at here.

Here is my official review:

Johnna Dee really steps up her description game in "Ransom of the Gorgon". Her writing is so vivid and really draws you in making this one an "I couldn't put it down" book.

The romantic tension coupled with the uncertainty of Elys's future wellbeing is captivating. The few spicy scenes were just right. This one does have a technical ending, but has loose ends meant to be tied up in book three. If you like Greek mythology, romance, and action, then you'll love this book just like I did.

As I said in my review, it was an enthralling read that I couldn't put down. I look forward to Mari's story in book three. In the meantime, "Ransom of the Gorgon" goes live on 1/23! You can pre-order on Kindle for just $0.99 here: https://a.co/d/0iE5k47

Well, dear readers, that is it for me for this week. I hope that you enjoyed the peek at more Greek mythology in a modern setting. Be sure to stop in again next week for more book recommendations. Until then, curl up with a good book.
