Vaynisha Ezilan is a new to me author so "Masked Desires" is the first of her works that I've read. I am glad that I had the opportunity to step into this dark romance.
Vaynisha created some dynamic and complex characters. Vaishnavi is an aloof, calm, beautiful, sometimes boring, workaholic CEO of a family steel empire. Alex is sexy as sin technology genius turned bodyguard with a knack for combat and mask kink videos. I love that they have a backstory before coming together later in life. Their dynamic turns from a slow burn to a full on five alarm fire. There are a few kinks in there, so sensitive readers beware.
I did find that there was a lot going on in the very beginning of the book to the point of almost being too much. The book had no choice but to slow down after that which van make it feel a bit slow at times and a bit long. Some of it gets a little repetative as well. However, I enjoyed reading it and found it a satisfying romp into the dark romance world.
Here is my official review:
A slow burn turns into an inferno.
"Masked Desires" is my first foray into Vaynisha Ezilan's world. Vaishnavi and Alex are both dynamic and complex characters with traumatic pasts. There is a lot going on in the beginning and then the pacing slows down. It is a little repetative and a bit long. However, the slow burn instant attraction between the main characters turns into an inferno in the second half of the book which is great for the spice lovers. It is a dark romance so sensitive readers should check the trigger warnings. Overall, it is a good novel.
If you are looking for your next boyfriend, then this morally grey hunk with a love of aggravating his boss could be right up your alley. You can meet Alex and Vaishnavi in "Masked Desires" here: https://a.co/d/jg2dNpN
That does it for me for this week, dear readers. Please join me again next week for more enticing stories. Until then, curl up with a good book.
