Happy Tuesday, fellow readers! Are you frozen? I am frozen. It is 11 degrees Fahrenheit here with atleast 8 inches of snow piled up out there. There is more forecasted for the weekend. Brr. So, we need to warm it up with a double dose of romance! That's right, I have a two for Tuesday for you.
Our first book is "Hidden Omega" by Danielle Kai.
We'll start with the trigger warnings.

Trigger Warnings:
Autism
Sexual content
Deception
Kidnapping
This one is an omegaverse, but it is different from other omegaverse books that I have read. I mean that in a good way. In most omegaverse worlds, betas are the default and most common people. They are often only included in packs through emotional bonds, and they aren't needed during an omega heat. Don't get me wrong, they can be helpful as an extra body to relieve the alphas, or as coordinators in charge of food, drinks, and supplies. But, they aren't able to ease an omega in heat and aren't required in a pack. Danielle Kai changes that in "Hidden Omega" by making the normal pack consist of an alpha, a beta, and an omega. Betas can bond with alphas and omegas. They have extra senses free of raging hormones, and their calmness is necessary for an omega in heat. I found those differences really refreshing.
Characters. Amelia, Andrew, and Jake are fantastic. Amelia is autistic and that plays heavily within the story. She's also amazingly mentally strong, adaptive, organized, and fun. Andrew and Jake just fit perfectly with her, and I love them as a pack.
The storyline is fairly short time wise for the characters but they grow, change, and go through a lot in that time. It's a good read for sure.
Here is my official review.
I like that in this omegaverse world betas are not just the default. Betas are necessary in a pack and it's the norm to have an alpha and beta in a pack with an omega. In many other omegaverse worlds, betas are a bonus and can't bond and aren't necessary to an omega heat. I love that "Hidden Omega" is different. It isn't a super steamy omega heat book leaning more toward sweet. Amelia finding her place is beautiful and her pack members couldn't be better suited for her. Overall, it is a good read.

On to our second recommendation of the week. This time I have a spicy motorcycle club romance for you called "Noose" by Marata Eros. This one is a bit darker and has some twists.
First, the trigger warnings.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶🌶🌶
Trigger Warnings:
Sexual content
Graphic language
Hypoglycemia
Murder
Violence
Sexual assualt/Attempted r@pe
Kidnapping
Mentions of human trafficking
Custody battle
Pregnancy
As I said, this one is darker and spicier. As is typical in a motorcycle club, MC, women are often no more than prostitutes within the club and rarely do the men settle down with the ones that get passed around. In "Noose" these women are referred to as "sweet butts." I mention that because it plays heavily in the story and gives you an idea of how women are generally treated within the book even by the better MCs.
The men of Road Kill MC are tough as nails with most being former military including Noose. Noose is a tough guy with an affinity for rope knots. I very much enjoyed him as a main character and loved his growth throughout the story. Especially with a major complication like Rose.
Rose is spectacular as a FMC. She's different in her circumstances, her obligations, and having a health complication. I love how relatable it makes her. I enjoyed seeing her growth as well.
The story got a bit gritty with some of the kidnapping scenes with psychological torment and rape vibes. It was different for sure, and I applaud the author for the inventiveness. However, I can definitely see where it would be off-putting to some.
Here is my official review.
"Noose" is raw, gritty, spicy, and captivating. I enjoyed how though the motorcycle clubs played a major role in the story, they didn't overshadow Noose as a main character. I love Noose and Rose's story though some parts could be difficult to read for some readers. Overall, it is a good MC romance.
