Happy Tuesday, fellow readers! Thank you for joining me. If you are in one of the areas that was recently affected by storms, I hope that everyone is safe. We received some wind and heavy rain in my area but nothing crazy. Although for some reason despite it only being Tuesday, this week has seemed so long. Have you felt that way? The best break for your brain is a good book, of course. This week we are finishing up a series with "Heaven for Now" by Ken La Salle.
First, the trigger warnings.

This is the third book in the " Heaven Enough" series. I was delighted to follow Matt Murphy on another whirlwind adventure. I became attached to Matt in book one and wanted more for him in book two. Book three was what I needed. It delivered the "more" for Matt.
I enjoyed the myriad of wonderful, quirky characters that Ken brought to life in this one. Marisol is fun, flirty, a little dangerous, and a little mysterious. Angelica is loyal, protective, a little scary, and has a hint of a lighter side. The side characters are even great, like the restaurant owner's niece and nephew who are quite the pair, or the fireworks guy, or Simon, or Evangeline. Each character added their own bit of spice to Matt's story.
Speaking of spice, I did rate it as zero peppers. Yes, there are mentions of sex but there are no details and no real "scenes" that I would warrant as deserving of even one pepper. That's okay. It does not need spice to be a good book.
While book three was meandering as I've come to expect from this series, it was more like book one in eventually finding a direction. There were some unexpected surprises which is always a fun experience in a book. The new colorful characters, the unexpected surprises, the humor, and the reliable mainstay characters, make this book great. It is definitely a worthy end to the series or an end for now anyway, in case Ken decides to write another one.
Here is my official review.
"Heaven for Now" is the third book in the "Heaven Enough" series by Ken La Salle. It starts shortly before the end of book two and fills in the time before Matt ends up at Paul's door at the end of book two. This one was was less meandering than the second but definitely had some unexpected turns more like the first book. I enjoyed meeting the colorful characters like Simon, Angelica, and the kids. The humor was great, and I loved how things went for Matt. Overall, I found it a satisfying end or an end for now atleast.
If you haven’t started the series yet, please do yourself a favor and read "Heaven Enough." If you've made it to book three, you'll definitely want to pick up "Heaven for Now" here: https://a.co/d/az3kdyl
That does it for me for this week, dear readers. Please join me again next week. Until then, curl up with a good book.
