Happy Tuesday fellow readers! It has been a tiring week since I last wrote. I hope that you all have been doing well.
This week, I want to continue on with my theme of books from the Tales in Motion online event. It is a fantastic event with 20 amazing independent authors and 20 awesome books. It is running until June 14th, so there is still time to join in if you want. Many of the books are on sale for $0.99, including our selection for this week.
This week's book is Dark Inheritance by Renee Lake. I have featured two of Renee's books in the past. Like those, this one is fantastic. If you love horror books and haunted houses, you'll love this one.
As always let's dispense with the necessities.

Trigger Warnings:
Spirits/ghosts
Murder-Suicide
Attempted rape
Still birth
Abuse
Incest
Sex is mentioned multiple times but nothing detailed.
Okay, now on to the good stuff!
In Dar Inheritance, we get introduced to Rosaline. She's a plus sized, copper haired, wife and mom, and a twin. When her dad and aunt meet a gruesome fate, she is drawn back to her ancestral home, Skummel Manor, located on the banks of Lake Eerie in Ohio.
Throw in a a twin brother with psychological issues, a sweet supportive husband, three kids, a dysfunctional relationship with her mother, sketchy household staff, and a dark family history, and you have this work of art.
Renee does a fantastic job with character development and world building. I felt like I was there with the characters. It is so immersive! I did not want to put it down. I enjoyed the incorporation of dream sequences and journals in the book. These elements really added depth to the story.
As noted in the trigger warnings, there are some dark topics in the book. They are touched upon but nothing goes in depth or prolonged so it should be good for most adult readers who like horror.
This book is just $0.99 right now so definitely check it out! If you do, let me know and send me a link to your review. If you want to check out Tales in Motion and the other books involved definitely let me know.
That's it for the week. Thank you again for joining me. I hope that you enjoyed the blog. Until next time, curl up with a good book.
