Happy Tuesday, fellow readers! Can you believe it's the end of October?! Where does the time go?! It's just two days until my favorite holiday. I love Halloween. How about you?

I think that this week's book club pick could inspire some fun costumes. A valkyrie, Odin, a motor cycle club member, a cowboy, or even a gang member. Those sound awesome, right?

If you are intrigued, please join me in checking out this action/adventure paranormal romance novella called A Valkyrie's Vow by Madison Granger.

First, let's get past those pesky trigger warnings, shall we?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🌶

Trigger Warnings:

Run away teens

Gang activity

Drug deals

Mentions of sexual acts

Now that that's over with, let's dig in. I enjoyed A Valkyrie's Vow. I love mythology and having a valkrie and Odin in the story with mentions of warriors and Valhalla was such a treat. I love that Madison was able to blend that Norse mythology with modern day life in a rural area. It was unexpected and so well done.

As you can tell by the trigger warnings, there are some darker themes in the book. Madison handles these so well. I got the severity of the situations, and I had some worrying moments for some of the characters but it was balanced so beautifully with sweet moments of found family and romance. It's a well balanced little treat.

The character building is phenomenal. I expected to be most drawn to the valkyrie FMC, Sigrid, as she is the first to be introduced, however, I found myself so enthralled with the MMC, Slade. He has so many layers and is so well done.

Here is my official review:

A sweet found family romance

Usually it is the FMC who takes the spotlight, and while Sigrid is definitely a fantastic character, it's the MMC who stood out to me. There are so many layers to this man! I loved the slow burn romance and the sweetness of the found family vibe with the boys. If you want a sweet romantic treat with a sexy couple, definitely give A Valkyries Vow a try.

So, if you are looking for a mostly clean adventure with some twists and some sweet undertones definitely pick up A Valkyrie's Vow.

That is it for me for this week, dear readers. The book club event is wrapping up but a new event is on the way. If you'd like to join a multi-genre book bingo event, please let me know.
