Happy Tuesday, fellow readers. I hope that August is treating you well. We've had more rain and storms here. I'm very much over the precipitation. However, bad weather does leave plenty of time for reading. Including this week's book recommendation which is a sci-fi why choose romance called "Apprentice" by Lexie Winston.

Before blast off into this one, we will start with the trigger warnings.

If you enjoy alien romance and reverse harem, you will love "Apprentice." I absolutely adore aliens and shifters and this book has all of that. The idea of an alien circus is so exciting! Then, add in sexy shapeshifting males. Oh my! Talk about hot! You will find a dragon shifter, a kraken shifter, a warlock, the basis for myths like the vampire and the pegasus, as well as creatures that look like saber tooth tigers and dolphins, and so much more. It's incredibly fascinating.

In the midst of it all is a fabulous FMC named Lila. Lila is the definition of adaptable. She doesn't so much as flinch over totally life altering situations happening to her many times in her life. I love a strong, resilient main character. I enjoyed that there is so much more to her that even she has yet to discover. Lexie did such an amazing job taking us as readers along for the ride with Lila. "Apprentice" is just book one in the series, and I have no doubt that Lexie brings out more and more about Lila all while exploring alien species and hopefully alien worlds as well.

My one critique is the ending. Don't worry, still no spoilers. It just the style. It wasn't a true wrap up or a cliff hanger. It just ended, almost like a song fading off. It works, but I wanted a for now ending with a promise of much more. Don't get me wrong, I want more. I just wanted more from the ending, too. Does that make sense? I still enjoyed it.

Here is my official review.

Aliens, spice, and family secrets, oh my!

"Apprentice" is quite the ride with long lost family, an other worldly circus, aliens, and family secrets. The spice is oh so nice. Lila is a delightful FMC, and the book left me hungry for more.

If you are looking for a spicy good time with Lila and some sexy aliens with a little intrigue of mysteries to come, you can get "Apprentice" here: https://a.co/d/027Ekil7

That does it for me for this week, dear readers. Please join me again next week for another wonderful recommendation. Until then, curl up with a good book.
