Happy Tuesday, fellow readers. I hope that you all are doing well. I know in the summer there is a lot going on and you might not have time to read a lot or maybe you need a quick beach book. This week's recommendation is absolutely perfect for the summer. This paranormal romance called "My Ex Boyfriend's Werewolf Lover" by Cassie Alexander is perfectly short and spicy.

Before we jump in, here are the trigger warnings.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🌶🌶🌶

Trigger warnings:

Guns/gunfire

Death

Mention of bdsm

Mentions of prostitution

Sex

Mentions of abuse

Fighting

This one is super fast paced and full on dark. Trauma is just littered throughout and basically the underlying tone of this book. However, the characters take the trauma to become stronger, and I love that.

Samantha aka Sam aka Sammy, is quite the character. She is a former prostitute with a tragic past who found a sadistic prince charming, Vincent, to her masochistic Cinderella. Her love story quickly becomes a story of survival and vengeance. The memories of Vincent flow throughout the story. It's an unique way to get to know a character.

I always enjoy a paranormal aspect. Though the werewolves do play a part in the story, besides Max, they are a bit of a background force. The paranormal is mixed with mafia with vague mentions of "the family." I would have enjoyed a bit more development not only with the mafia and werewolf aspects, but also with the relationship between Max and Sammy. I know it is a shorter fast paced book, so maybe that is why it felt rushed. I did enjoy it, though.

Here is my official review.

Short and spicy.

Trauma upon trauma meets a paranormal second chance romance. This is a fast paced little piece of heat that is unexpected.

Definitely worth a read.
